Her Hair

A photography series exploring the connection between women, self-expression, and their hair. Some may believe caring about hair is merely vanity, but to others hair is an extension of themselves. A way to express who we are through our unique textures, colours, lengths and styles. As women, with our bodies so under scrutiny, we tend to have to cover up and conform to fit in with society. But through our hair, we are able to resist, express our freedom and embrace our individuality. There is a deep personal connection. Now this may not apply to every woman, but there are those who use hair as a powerful tool of expression, and I wanted to explore those secret meanings and to tell their stories.
